Where have you seen Jim Wise before? If you are in your late 20s to early 30s, you may recognize him as the irascible Coach Tugnut on Disney Channel’s “Even Stevens.” If you’ve been to the Groundling Theater, you may have seen Jim performing sketches and creating comedy on the fly. However, most Americans still recognize Jim as Kenny, the duplicitous assistant who threatens to fold David Spade like a lawn chair on “Just Shoot Me.”
An accomplished voice artist, Jim can be heard as The Goofy Goober Rock Singer in “The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.” Jim also made vocal contributions to “Hotel Transylvania” and “Hotel Transylvania 2.” Under the direction of Larry Charles on the animated series “Dilbert,” Jim portrayed Loud Howard as well as various other not as loud characters. Jim voiced the role of monster truck announcer Von “Boom Boom” Maddox on the series “Heavy Gear.” And, on the lighter side, Jim played the affable Fripp on the nesting doll animation series “Higglytown Heroes.”
When he’s not emoting in front of the camera or microphone, Jim works as a writer/producer/director. A quick scan of his IMDB page will confirm that Jim’s credits include “Saturday Night Live,” “MADTV,” ”The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris,” “Better Late Than Never,” and Apple’s “Carpool Karaoke.”
